Mr. Alexander's Valley Springs Vision

Greetings, Rams Families and Students!  I am so very proud and honored to be the Principal of Valley Springs Middle School.  I truly believe that we Rams have the best middle school in Buncombe County and throughout our fine state!

I consider it a personal and professional
privilege to lead our school in excelling at all things.  My vision for Valley Springs is simply that: A Continuing Tradition of Excellence Since 1919.  Our students and teachers will excel in all areas of academic excellence; knowing that the whole student is shaped and enriched not just through academic core subjects, but by their electives as well.  At Valley Springs, our students and teachers will excel in all athletic and competitions teams of which we are a part.  Our students and teachers will excel in the cultural, industrial, and fine arts - from CTE Courses to Band, Chorus, Strings, Foreign Language, Art, and Drama.  We will show that our Valley Springs students are at the forefront of these areas in middle grades education.

As an administrator, I believe in empowering our students everyday to grow themselves as learners and young social adults through the various opportunities and expectations that Valley Springs provides.

I am a proud Valley Springs alumnus and dedicated educator.  Forever considering myself a Latin teacher, it was an honor to have taught Latin at Enka High School here in Asheville and at White Knoll High School in South Carolina.  My wife, a pre-school educator, and I have a one year old daughter.  We love calling Western North Carolina home.  Though I am a native Ashevillain, I lived a year in Lecco, Italy and two years in Columbia, South Carolina.

I invite you to come out to Valley Springs for a personalized tour and see the excellent interdisciplinary education we offer to our community.  I also invite you to make an appointment with me to learn more about our school and to visit us on social media.

It's always an incredible day at Valley Springs Middle School.  I'm very proud to say, Go Rams!
