Cloud, A. - Art

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Angela Cloud.
Welcome to 7th and 8th Grade
Visual Art!

I am so very excited to be the fine art teacher at Valley Springs Middle School! I am a graduate of The University of Delaware, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art Conservation and Art History with a minor in Fine Art. I enjoyed working and studying in museums and cultural institutions. Growing up and going to school in Delaware I was able to intern and work at Winterthur and Hagley, working with a variety of collections:  paintings, photographs, railroad boxcars, murals, sears catalogs, furniture, etc. I was also able to travel abroad to Chile and Peru to study the arts and crafts native to South America. In Italy, I lived in Florence and attended Lorenzo di Medici to study fresco painting and restoration. Although I loved working in museums, I knew getting into one of the only 3 graduate programs for Art Conservation in the United States would be next to impossible, I started looking at other art related fields. The state of Delaware offered a post-baccalaureate teaching certificate program, for areas of great need like science and art. I emailed the program my college transcripts and before I knew it, I was teaching art at a high school in Wilmington, DE. Within two years, I earned my teaching certificate from the University of Delaware and was hooked. I knew teaching was for me. I have over 8 years of experience and have taught every grade level, from kindergarten through 12th grade, and loved every minute of it. I look forward to sharing my experiences and passions with the students of Valley Springs.
