Hi,
I am Allan Tenney.  This is my 21st year of teaching and my 16th at Valley Springs.  I am a RAM.  I bleed blue and gold.  My wife of almost 17 years graduated from Reynolds, but I don't hold it against her.  I have two undergraduate degrees.  I received a B.A in Middle Grades Education from UNC-Charlotte and a B.S. in journalism from Ithaca College.  As an avid reader (mostly of YA novels) I thoroughly enjoy teaching ELA.  Since I grew up in the Boston area taking field trips along the Freedom Trail, I am thrilled to be able to teach Social Studies from the stirrings of the American Revolution through the Civil War.  I have also been blessed with the privilege of coaching our boys and girls soccer teams for all 15 years.  Players on my teams have consistently shown an ability to work hard for each other and their school.  We always put others above ourselves.  In the classroom I am a FIRM BELIEVER that all students are capable of being "reasonable human beings" AND impressive thinkers!
