Summer Enrichment Opportunities

  • Ferrum College Summer Enrichment Camp

     The daily academic program at FCSEC is balanced with a variety of social and recreational activities designed to promote personal growth, team-building and an appreciation of individual differences and abilities. 
    Students applying to FCESC should meet the following criteria:
    • Currently in Grades four, five, six or seven
    • Academically motivated, making As and Bs
    • Enjoy Learning
    • Well-behaved in classroom settings
  • iD Tech Camp and iD Programming Academy--Summer Computer Camps, UNC-Chapel Hill

    iD Tech Summer Computer Camp offers sessions in game design, robotics,
    programming, and web page design.  The camp strives to strike the right balance between off-computer activities (creative games, sports, life skills, etc.) and essential technology education to foster STEM skill development (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
  • University of North Carolina-Greensboro All-Arts, Sciences, and Technology Camp

    The All-Arts, Sciences & Technology Camp is aweeklong summer camp with day and residential options for kids ages 7–15.  Designed to give in-depth, hands-on instruction, the camp also includes recreation, citizenship, and entertainment.
  • Duke University Continuing Studies: Youth Programs

    Duke Youth Programs is a part of Duke University Continuing Studies and has provided summer academic enrichment for academically motivated youth for over 20 years.
  • Green River Preserve

    Green River Preserve is a non-competitive, co-ed summer camp connecting children to nature. Located on a 3,400 acre wildlife Preserve in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina , Green River Preserve inspires campers to have a greater understanding of themselves, their environment, and their fellow man.
  • University of North Carolina-Greensboro Summer Music Camp

    The UNC-G Summer Music Camp is ranked as the largest university-sponsored music camp in America. It maintains a reputation for providing musical experiences of the highest possible quality within the financial reach of most families.  Classes are provided for concert bands, orchestras, choirs, and pianists.
  • University of North Carolina-Wilmington MarineQuest

    MarineQuest is the official marine science outreach program for the University of North Carolina WilmingtonWatson College of Education, and the Center for Marine Science providing young people with opportunities to explore, discover and value our marine habitats.

    Rocket to Creativity Camp-Western Carolina University

    Rocket to Creativity will engage children in fun but challenging activities that promote creative thinking and problem solving. Children who are rising 2nd graders through rising 9th graders may choose from a variety of projects that range from creating historical documentaries to creating costumes for science fiction films.
