EXAMPLES

1.  At this point in the book: A quick 1-3 sentence summary of the pages you read for this 30 minutes.  This is not just about the quote you will use. You must put the page #’s after.

At this point in the book Sue and David have just gotten back to the waterfall.  They travelled together in Dave’s car and seem to be starting a relationship. They expect to find a very angry Mr. Griffin. (pages 33-55)

2a. After reading (QUOTE the line of text that made your brain do a “good reader” strategy) end with a COMMA

After reading, “He is not asleep, he’s dead,”

2b. I (STATE THE STRATEGY from the list on the back of this page)

I predicted...

2c. “Finish” the strategy with what you did (the little bold).

... that Dave and Sue would be found with the body and be arrested...

3. This line of text made me think/ask/predict/etc. this because… Explain how that line of text made you do what you stated in 2c.

...because they are the only ones that know that Mr. Griffin is dead and not just asleep.  People are looking for Mr. G by now.  Sue seems unlucky so it would make sense that she would be caught with the body and likely be blamed.

PLEASE WRITE THIS LINE BY LINE in 5 lines (each worth 20 points):

  1. At this point in the book Sue and David have just gotten back to the waterfall.  They expect to find a very angry Mr. Griffin. (pages 33-55)

  2. After reading “He is not asleep, he is dead,”

  3. I predicted

  4. That Dave and Sue would be found with the body and arrested

  5. Because they are the only ones that… likely be blamed.
