🏀School Resource Officers are literally having a ball with a group of BCS intermediate and middle school students.
The students joined the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office for the 2026 Southern Conference Tournament. They started the day at the Downtown Dribble and Kids Fest, mingling with college mascots and getting basketballs, which they bounced as they walked from Pack Square Park to the Harrah’s Cherokee Center-Asheville to watch this afternoon’s tournament action.
“Our officers work hard to build strong relationships in their school communities,” said Sgt. Will Fisher of the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office. “This opportunity helps strengthen those bonds, and is just as much fun for us as it is for the kids."
Earlier in the week, students from several BCS schools also had the opportunity to attend opening round games.
