FCCLA (Family Career Community Leaders of America) students from Clyde A. Erwin High School, T.C. Roberson High School, A.C. Reynolds High School, and Charles D. Owen High School recently attended A-B Tech’s Culinary Open House, where they got a firsthand look at what it takes to succeed in the world of food and hospitality.

During the visit, high schoolers explored the college’s state-of-the-art kitchens, learned from current culinary and pastry students, and even sampled dishes prepared in the program. From fresh-baked pastries to savory entrees, the experience offered a true “taste” of what A-B Tech’s award-winning programs have to offer.

The event was more than a field trip - it was a chance for Career and Technical Education (CTE) students to see the possibilities that await them right here in Western North Carolina after graduation. Experiences like these highlight how CTE programs empower students to turn their passions into careers and open doors to continued learning in their own community.
